52 Bags of Inspiration FAQ

Questions, questions, questions. You asked them, and here are the answers:

Q: Where do I send my package of items for this project
A: Sorry, I am no longer accepting submissions for this project.

Send them to this address:

Lisa Vollrath
52 Bags of Inspiration
400 E. Fuller Drive
Euless TX 76039
USA

Q: What should I send you?
A: So far, the best packages have been either one item that really stumped the sender, or a collection of items that seem to want to be related somehow, but the sender couldn’t quite fit them together. I respond best to packages to present me with a challenge or a problem to solve.

Q: Is there anything I shouldn’t send you?
A: Please don’t send me stickers, or anything made of plastic—I won’t use them. You can send me trash items, as long as they’re relatively clean. Anything dead, rotting, or melted by the heat when it arrives in my mailbox will be discarded immediately. Also, don’t send a baggie of ephemera—I really am looking for items that you don’t know how to use, and I think we all know what to do with scraps of paper by now.

Q: I sent you something months ago, but you haven’t used it yet. How come?
A: Not everything sent to me is going to make it into a project. I’ve received quite a few duplicate items, baggies of ephemera, and bags that look like someone cleaned out their kitchen junk drawer. Also, I do get stuck by some things myself.

Q: How many bags of stuff have you been sent?
A: At any given time, I have between a dozen and twenty packages in the plastic bin I’m using to hold incoming mail for this project. I go through them each time I get ready to post a new project, and move some of them up to the work table for planning. Each time I write a new article, I get two or three new packages.
